Your students well-being is important to us!

We Have Zero Tolerance for Bullying & Violence

In "I Can Be Me Art Program", we strive to establish a holistic environment where all students can develop their creativity. Students who fail to follow "I Can Be Me Art Program" rules or are violent, aggressive, or disrespectful to staff, other students, site, or equipment may be dismissed.

If "I Can Be Me Art Program" Staff feel the student is unable to understand the rules, they will be removed and unable to
complete the remaining weeks of the after school program. NO REFUNDS will be issued. However, they can try again by enrolling in our next set of programs (Fall, Winter, Spring Sessions).

Behavior Policy

There is always excitement and positive interaction in our art classes. It is unlikely that your student will have a negative experience since they will have fun using various art materials and learning new techniques. However, in the event a student's behavior impacts the experience of others negatively, appropriate actions will be taken to address the concerns. At "I Can Be Me" we assess behavior in the same way schools do.

We follow the Mind-Body-Heart Behavior System:

  • Step 1 (Mind) - We focus on sitting down with the student to genuinely understand their perspective and identify a solution for a better experience. A verbal warning will be given at that time. Afterwards, the student may complete their art project.

  • Step 2 (Body) - We invite the student to take a mindful pause away from the other students. They will also receive additional support from a staff member through mentorship. An email notification will be sent to parent(s) immediately of the incident. Afterwards, the student may return to their art project.

  • Step 3 (Heart) - We get down to the heart of the matter by contacting the student's parent(s) for immediate pick up. Depending on the circumstances, the student may not be able to complete the remaining weeks of the after school program. In this case, they can try again by enrolling in the next set of programs (Fall, Winter, Spring Sessions).
